L\u2019heure est grave : Charlemagne vient d’apprendre que son fils d\u2019un premier lit, P\u00e9pin le Bossu, a conspir\u00e9 contre lui. Le roi est loin d’avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 un p\u00e8re id\u00e9al, mais la sentence est sans appel : le jeune tra\u00eetre doit rejoindre un monast\u00e8re et y demeurer le restant de ses jours. Peu enclin \u00e0 faire amende honorable et encore moins \u00e0 devenir un homme de Dieu, P\u00e9pin d\u00e9p\u00e9rit. L’h\u00e9ritier d\u00e9chu est loin de se douter que c\u2019est par une entremise des plus inattendues que viendra son salut, avant d’entamer un p\u00e9rilleux voyage vers l’inconnu…<\/p>
